Older Women and Cats

I am in my golden senior years, and I'm finding it easier to write, and be creative in other ways, than ever before. I live in a country where everyone can access health care, disability, and aged care. People make that happen. None are more qualified to make it happen than sociology-political writers.

If I were young, and planning for these years, including those plans I had of working up until I took my last breath (assuming my mind held up to it,) I'd be politically active and help flip any government that did not provide adequate health and aged care.

Of course, I'm not the type to bludge of a good welfare system. I also worked hard to provide for myself through superannuation and living within my means, creating assets, not debts. That was easier to do where I live than it would be for many. But nothing beats good government for having ease of mind where it comes to the future. Sociology-political writers do influence the future. Future security planning is as much about using your voice for positive change as it is about acquiring financial assets. Financial assets can be gone in a blink. Our best security is investing our time to create humanitarian attitudes in government, as that is a great protector for when we became aged and disabled writers.
